The Independent Living Program aims to equip people with disabilities with the tools they need to live an independent, fulfilling and joyful life.

The program involves groups of 3-4 people with disabilities visiting the Independent Living Center for a period of up to 10 days. For the duration of their stay, the program participants undertake a series of activities and lessons to provide them with the skills, awareness and knowledge required to live independently in their community. Examples of topics covered in the program include education on human rights, peer counselling, education on assistive devices and personal attendants, self-care techniques and methods of self-advocacy.
